Compatibility Information
Care is taken to maintain backwards compatibility with system configurations created in older versions of FCP. However, there is no guarantee that existing system configurations will work without any change on newer versions of the software.
Due to the nature of system control, slight timing or other differences between versions of FCP can alter the behavior of your system.
Therefore, ensure that you have an up-to-date backup of your system configuration before attempting a software upgrade. The system configuration is contained in an FCP project file (.fcpp), the name of which can be seen in the title bar of your existing FCP installation. A software upgrade is at your own risk.
A project file, once saved, should not be opened in an older version of FCP.
